A little bit about me

Hi! First of all, let me just say a huge thanks for visiting my Website and having a look at my paintings. Now …. a little bit about me…

I am a UK based artist, living and working on the South Coast of England. I have been a professional artist since 2002. I live with my two Border Terriers, Radish and Teasel and work from my studio which is situated in my garden, surrounded by trees and birds and even the odd rodent!

I am a self taught artist. The education system didn’t really suit me as I am a free learner and have always preferred to work things out for myself and ask if I need help. So the whole process of becoming an artist has been one of, ‘learn from your mistakes’. I have gained a lot of experience on this winding path of life.

I have exhibited my work at; The Mall Galleries, London. Llewelyn Alexander Gallery, London. Local exhibitions and on many online platforms.

My subjects had to be animals because of my deep connection with anything fuzzy, furry, cute and beautiful. I also have a profound love for forests and trees and the sea. Nature soothes me when the world feels unnatural.

I want my work to capture the soul and spirit of a time or individual. Art is more than just a pretty picture to me. Art is a feeling like the song which makes your heart soar. Art is more than a photograph. My paintings come from my connection with the subject and with each piece I give everything I can.
